Job Shadow Reflective Narrative
On September 7 at 9am I job shadowed Officer Moreno, I went for a ride a along. I went for a ride along because I am interested in soon being a Police Officer. I choose to job shadow a Police Officer because I plan on being a cop and later becoming a U.S Marshal. I went to the local Police Department and got picked to interview Officer Moreno.
Well first we got in his car, I'm a bit nervous because I've never been inside a cop car and especially not in the passenger. We drove around town for about an hour or so then he got a call to go to the station to meet up with his partners to look for a wanted man. So we all went to go look for him I was so excited because my adrenaline was pumping and was actually gonna see something up close in action. But unfortunately we didn't find the man. So we kept driving waiting for other calls. Eventually we went back to the station and did some paperwork took me around the station talked to the operator asked her couple questions.
I learned a lot about being a cop, I asked very important questions that are going to help me realize more about being a cop. It honestly takes a lot being a cop you have to be mentally prepared sometimes they have to take the job home. One thing I really liked is I was asking important questions and Officer Moreno he was being very honest with so I get a better vibe of being a cop. One thing I didn't like is some of his questions he would answer “yes and no” and wouldn't be as specific how I would want him to be.
Yes I am still interested in being a cop. After my ride along I want to be a cop 10x more. I wanna be able to help people in need. Also one of the main reasons is to show my family that I can prove to them their little girl can become a police officer someone in the law enforcement and I can also help my family and benefit them.
